The AmazonBasics Microwave with Amazon Alexa is seeing its first real discount since it was announced late last year. It is currently sitting at $41.99. That's a 30-percent discount, or around $18 off of its regular price.
This microwave from Amazon is part of its "AmazonBasics" lineup, which is essentially the store brand (think of Walmart's Great Value or Costco's Kirkland). It's not all that fancy, other than the Alexa functionality. And even that isn't all that special. You can use Alexa to find out how long you should microwave something and that's about it. Alexa does not allow you to tell it to turn on the microwave, and even if it did, it would be useless, since you need to be in-front of it to put food in the microwave.
It is a 0.7 cubic-foot microwave, with about 700W of power, so it's going to warm up your food quite nicely. And if you are already heavily invested in Amazon's Alexa ecosystem, then this is going to be a pretty nice pickup. Or if you are looking to make your kitchen a bit smarter. But don't expect this to automatically warm up your food, as it still needs to get from your refrigerator to the microwave to be warmed up.
